For long-term storage of significant quantities, regular inspections are crucial to detect any onset of rust. Upon spotting rust, applying a fresh coat of lubricating oil is recommended. In cases of severe corrosion, the affected segments should be discarded immediately. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, place the wire ropes on a dry surface with wooden boards underneath and cover them with a protective tarpaulin.
