Never stack wire ropes in multiple layers within storage facilities. For substantial long-term storage, regular inspections are essential to prevent rust. Upon detecting rust, reapply lubricating oil immediately. In cases of severe corrosion, consider scrapping the affected segment of the wire rope. If storing outdoors, place the wire rope on dry ground with an underlay of boards, and ensure it is covered with a tarpaulin to protect against the elements.
