Direct sunlight or heat exposure should be avoided to prevent damage. Warehouses should not have wire ropes stacked in multiple layers. For large quantities stored long-term, regular inspections are necessary to identify and prevent rust. Lubricating oil should be reapplied if rust is detected, and any severely corroded sections should be discarded. For outdoor storage, place the wire rope on dry ground with boards underneath and cover it with a tarpaulin to protect from environmental elements.
