To prevent damage, don't stack wire ropes in multiple layers within the storage area. For extensive storage, routinely inspect the ropes to guard against rust; promptly address any detected rust by reapplying lubricating oil. If severe corrosion is identified, the affected segment should be discarded. For outdoor storage, place wire ropes on a dry surface, supported by boards, and shield them with a tarpaulin.
