For long-term storage of a substantial quantity, perform regular inspections to prevent rust. Upon detecting rust, promptly apply a fresh coat of lubricating oil. If corrosion becomes severe, it is advisable to scrap the affected section of wire rope. When storing the wire rope outdoors, position it on dry ground with boards as an underlay and cover it with a tarpaulin for protection.
